Blackearnside Tartan Army

Next Meeting Friday 5th February 2010 7:30 PM The Ship Hotel

COA

Welcome to the home of the Blackearnside Tartan Army. Based in Newburgh in Fife we take our name from a battle fought nearby at Blackearnside or Black Ironside during theMo AGM Wars of Independence. Those days are thankfully past now but we like to think that our pride in our nation is still reflected in our support for our nation in the different fields of sport. Primarily we set out to support the Scottish national football team, but many members let this pride in our nation spill over to many other sports.

We participate in many aspects of life in the local community and lend our support in whatever way we can. our Ceilidhs have become well attended and on the closest Saturday to the 12th June and 30th November each year the local TICC resounds to music of Scotland. In 2010 the dates for your diary are 12th June and the 27th November are the dates for your diary.

We meet on a regular basis on the First Friday of each Month except January. If you are interested in joining our merry band you are welcome to come along get any information that you may require._40338307_wallace300x300

Please feel free to add any comments to our guest books and we welcome suggestions on any improvements that we feel would benefit our members and guests.

As a club we have had the pleasure of visiting many nations and hopefully strengthening the bonds between our different peoples. That is one objective as our great bard Robert Burns put it.

“For a' that, an’ a' that, It's coming yet for a' that, That Man to Man, the world o'er, Shall brothers be for a’ that.

No Team GB Campaign

As a club we are against the set up of a “Team GB” for the football at the 2012 London Olympics, Entering this team will jeopardise the very existence of an independent Scottish Football Team on the world stage. FIFA will almost certainly call for their to be only one team from the UK as opposed to the current four. They have been calling for this for years and this would be just the ammunition they required to exclude Scotland from future participation on the world stage.

If you also oppose the Team GB then support the No Team GB Campaign
